Working in collaboration with Kingswood Neighbourhood Centre, Northamptonshire Sport, North Northamptonshire Council and KHL Big Local, we recently completed the installation of a custom Calisthenics area as part of the Kingswood Urban Development Project, to develop a youth engagement project and improve on site facilities.
Double Parallel Bars, Warm Up Bench and Individual Leap Bar were complimented by a section of the POD Fit Ultimate that included features such as Overhead Ladders, Pull Up Bars and a Swedish Ladder creating an innovative and dynamic calisthenics area that is easy to maintain long term – all of which are manufactured in the UK!
The three year initiative provides much-needed youth engagement and provision in the area, including; an upgrade to the existing skatepark and solar lighting on the multi-use games area providing a range of sport activities and engagement programmes to encourage young people to be more active and take up volunteering, training and learn employability skills.
The new initiative will provide young people with new opportunities and support them to develop healthy relationships, whilst engaging in positive activities and increase usage of the places and spaces where young people hang-out by improving existing provision. It will also help to restart youth activities in the area, engage and promote local clubs, all of which has been lacking in Kingswood for many years.
