The Recreation Ground in the village of Hatton is a popular, well sized park that was in need of a makeover. It was run down with old and tired equipment, so the aim of this project was to turn it into an exciting, vibrant play area with a range of equipment that would challenge all children living in the village and the surrounding area.
Upon completion Jacqui Storer, clerk to Hatton Parish Council said “We are absolutely delighted with the new play equipment which has been installed at our Scropton Road recreation ground. The existing equipment was age limited and had become both dated and stale, but the new equipment has catered for a wider age range of children and has generated a significantly increased number of children of all ages playing at the recreation ground.
The Parish Council placed the order but due to the time of year, the weather was not favourable, but as soon as the ground was capable to cope with the work, we received a call from Doug and the crew made a start. They worked long days and within the week the equipment was all installed. With each passing day, the word spread that new play equipment was being installed and the Parish Council regularly had enquiries as to when the equipment would be ready; so did the contractors who were brilliant with the enquiries they got from the children who visited to see the daily progress of the equipment being installed.
The Parish Council wishes to thank Doug and the Streetscape team for all of their hard work in providing the community with such a valuable asset. It is a well planned play area, which has been designed in conjunction with the Parish Council and young persons.”
